Boehner Abandons ‘Grand Bargain’ Talks Over Tax Hikes
They should just raise the debt ceiling and talk another day about this. One thing that the public doesn't know, but the President and the Republicans do, If they do not raise the debt ceiling by law, the Treasury Secretary has control over what is paid. He reports to the President only. So, I guess, the republicans would not like the choices that are made.
If it came down to that the interest on the debt would rise, since people would no longer believe that the U.S. would pay their debts under any circumstance. The new IMF leader came out today saying that it needs to be settled and settled now.
