My Thoughts on the GOP, TP & 'Big Government'

There's a lot of GOPs and TPs out there who think that our government is way too big and think it should be cut. Because they apparently think that:
  • Helping the poor, the needy and the less fortunate is something the government shouldn't do.
  • Standing up to the health insurance companies is wrong.
  • Raising taxes on the rich is a bad idea.
  • Holding the debt ceiling hostage is ok and raising it is a bad idea.
  • Medicare and Social Security are the devil.
  • Basically anything that helps people who really need it or 'hurts' the rich is a bad idea.
  • Ayn Rand is amazing even though everything she believes in is against what Jesus taught and her hero was a serial killer.
But if they hate big government so much I find it weird that:
  • It's ok to tell a woman what rights she has with her body and what rights she doesn't have.
  • Corporate welfare is ok.
  • It's ok to tell a religious group that their laws are wrong/dangerous and they can't meet in groups of more than 3 people of the same religion.
  • It's ok to abolish a local government.
  • It's ok to take workers rights away.
  • It's ok to decide who gets married and who doesn't.
  • It's ok to lie about why we're going to war.
These are just some things that kept running through my head today as I dealt with trolls who apparently think I'm drinking 'spiked' drinks. Although I can assure you I'm sober and that I'm not in a cult. Which is really interesting if you think about it. Anyone who is ok with some socialism or is a liberal is apparently in a cult and drinking the cool-aid because we can think for ourselves and care about the welfare of others. And more importantly, we question.

"Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many.  Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books.  Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders.  Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations.  But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it."

Underground, may I reprint this on my blog? It is quite wonderful. If so, how would you like your byline to read other than your blog title and, of course with attribution and a link to your place?

I just heard a great comment on CNN. It is ok to drug test welfare recipients, if the bankers who got the bailouts, companies who get ag subsidies, and all of our other corporate bailout people will get drug tested also.

That would be an awesome idea! I wonder how many companies would freak out, lol.
