I hate that they are closing Post Offices.

Me too. My hometown is slowly turning into a ghost town already since the elementary and bank closed. I can only imagine what's going to happen if the post office closes since the closest one is 15 minutes away in three different directions.

I know someone who works for the post office and I guess one of the problems is that they're federally regulated but don't receive any federal funding.

Reminds me of a great Amos and Andy episode about a thin house.

Are you familar with a "Potemkin village"? If you have time, read up on the term. Fascinating story.

I haven't heard of it but I will definitely look into it.

The bank closed?  That stinks.  The post office raises it's own money through postage, and envelopes.  But the right wing has wanted to get rid of it anyhow.  Oh well.

Yeah, they closed it and demolished the whole building :|

It really sucks that they're getting rid of that many post offices. That's just that many more people who will be unemployed and looking for work.
