Liberty All Askew

We don't live up to the Statue of Liberty's poem anymore.

"Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"
~Emma Lazarus

That doesn't seem to be the case any more.  And who would want to come to a country that puts people in jail over debts?

Dear Underground, As always, excellent and informative posts here. Hope all is reasonably well
with you and yours; I wish you and them a lovely holiday.
