Indiana House Approves Bill That Allows Homeowners To Kill Police Officers: "Republicans in Indiana are taking self-defense too far. In a move supported by the National Rifle Association, the Indiana House passed Senate Bill 1, which allows homeowners to shoot and kill police officers they believe are unlawfully on their property or in their homes. The bill could also extend to federal law enforcement officials..."
My jaw dropped when I saw this. WTF are they THINKING?!
"If the United States is supposed to uphold "Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness" how can a sick or dying person without health care have these rights."
~Motivated In Ohio
"Any health care funding plan that is just, equitable, civilized and humane must - must - redistribute wealth from the richer among us to the poorer and the less fortunate. Excellent healthcare is by definition re-distributional."

The March of Christian Dominionism 1: What Is Christian Dominionism?
The March of Christian Dominionism 1: What Is Christian Dominionism?: "Or “Welcome to the Theocratic States of America”
Thirty years from now, a protestor stands alone on a corner. She is visibly pregnant. Her sign, written in blood red marker, says “I’m carrying my rapist’s baby! Thanks a lot, Jesus!” She has only been there for five minutes but has been called “slut” and “whore” by several passersby. One elderly woman stops long enough to tell her she deserved to be raped for not loving Jesus enough. Others look at her with sad eyes but quickly avert their gaze lest one of their neighbors notice.
Finally the police arrive to take the woman into custody. She has not spoken a word. She has no bullhorn. She has not accosted a single person on the street. Yet she is still arrested by men who barely contain their contempt for her. She has broken no laws that we would recognize but still, she is roughly handcuffed and placed in the back of a police cruiser. Of course, they take great care not to harm the baby she is carrying; the bruises she’ll have later won’t be anywhere near life-threatening. In this, she is lucky to be pregnant; others do not fare as well...."

Deadbeat Dad Joe Walsh Says Debate Over Birth Control Has Nothing To Do With Women (VIDEO)
Deadbeat Dad Joe Walsh Says Debate Over Birth Control Has Nothing To Do With Women (VIDEO): "Deadbeat dad and Tea Party Rep. Joe Walsh is at it again. Involving himself in issues he is woefully unqualified to be involved in, Walsh sat in his chair during the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform hearing on birth control last week and complained about President Obama’s new rules about contraceptives.
As part of Darrell Issa’s inquisition, no women were permitted to testify about birth control. Instead, the Republican head hunter invited a bunch of He-Man woman haters, also known as religious bigots, to speak on the issue of birth control, even though they lack the necessary anatomy to actually qualify to speak at such a hearing...."
What an asshat. This has EVERYTHING to do with women since it's us it's affecting. I don't give a shit if some religious organization doesn't want their insurance company to provide it or not. Every woman is entitled to these medications, especially if they need them to treat Fibroid Tumors or PMDD or any other medical disorder that only affects WOMEN!

Catholic Priest Allegedly Told Child He Was Raping That ‘This Is What God’s Love Feels Like’
Catholic Priest Allegedly Told Child He Was Raping That ‘This Is What God’s Love Feels Like’: "The Catholic Church has thrown a temper tantrum over contraceptives, abortion, and homosexuality over the last few years. Catholic bishops and priests have gone on the offensive, crusading against what they call sin, immorality, and abomination of the word of God. But the Catholic Church can’t seem to clean up its own act. Over the years, child molestation and rape scandals have rocked the Catholic Church. But instead of dealing with the problem, many in the Catholic hierarchy have largely ignored the scandal and some priests have tried to use their religious affiliations to escape justice or use God to justify their actions. The horrendous scandal has now hit California, where 200 Catholic priests have been accused of sexually abusing children.
Ray Boucher is the attorney at the helm of this investigation and he says that not only have “many if not all” of the 200 priests admit to sexually abusing children, “they live within a mile of 1,500 playgrounds, schools and daycare centers” across California. You heard that right. 200 priests that are under investigation for sexually abusing children live near areas where children play and learn....."

Restaurant Owner Kicks Out Anti-Gay TN Senator Over Offensive Comments About Homosexuals (VIDEO)
Restaurant Owner Kicks Out Anti-Gay TN Senator Over Offensive Comments About Homosexuals (VIDEO): "Last week, Republican Tennessee state senator Stacey Campfield told LGBT journalist Michelangelo Signorile that it was “virtually impossible” to get HIV/AIDS through heterosexual sex, and that only gay people get the disease. He also claimed that HIV began after a gay man had sex with a monkey. Of course, we all know that Campfield’s claims are wrong because heterosexuals contract HIV as well. Take former NBA legend Magic Johnson for instance. He’s a heterosexual male who contracted the disease because he had sexual intercourse with multiple women over the course of his career. Countless other heterosexual men and women have contracted HIV over the decades. This is part of the alternative knowledge system that David Frum was referring to in December of last year. In it, homosexuality is the root cause of AIDS and should be demonized. Conservatives get away with such blatant lies because they live in a bubble safe from criticism. This time, though, Campfield’s outrageous comments have landed him in hot water and one local restaurant in Knoxville, Tennessee is teaching him a lesson...."

Grover Norquist To Obama: Extend Bush Tax Cuts Or Be Impeached
Grover Norquist To Obama: Extend Bush Tax Cuts Or Be Impeached: "You almost have to admire the chutzpah of Grover Norquist. For a man with no elected office and lacking the billions of the Koch brothers, Norquist exerts a phenomenal amount of influence on American politics. From his ability to force the entire GOP to pledge not to raise taxes under any circumstances (except on the Middle Class and poor, of course) to his latest act of arrogance in essentially threatening the President of the United States, Norquist is quite sure of himself...."

Florida GOP Considers Bill Which Would Allow Student Government To Vote For School Prayer Over Objection Of Religious Minorities
Florida GOP Considers Bill Which Would Allow Student Government To Vote For School Prayer Over Objection Of Religious Minorities: "School sponsored prayer has been unconstitutional for years. This is because a publicly funded school cannot put one religious group over another. It would alienate those who practice different religions or none at all. But a new bill in the Florida Senate would circumvent the Constitution by allowing student government to vote for the kind of school prayer they want over the objections of religious minorities.
According to the ACLU of Florida, Senate Bill 98 “would let school districts overrule the objections of religious minorities and organize school-sponsored prayer under the banner of student government. Under the bill, school officials would be able to skirt the Constitutional protections of religious liberty by letting students actually vote on what kind of prayers the school will allow and conduct...."

Roe v. Wade: An American Decision For Freedom And Liberty
Roe v. Wade: An American Decision For Freedom And Liberty: "Anti-abortion fanatics have really had a field day since Republicans took over the House of Representatives, several governorships, and many state legislatures. Anti-abortion laws are being proposed and passed in every red state and even the U.S. House has passed anti-women and anti-contraceptive bills. The cause of all this is their disagreement with a Supreme Court case known as Roe v. Wade. The right-wing has been claiming for decades that Roe v. Wade was a liberal decision made by a liberal court. But is this the case?
In the decades since Roe v. Wade was handed down, conservatives have been making the claim that the court was liberal. Evangelical conservatives in particular have been prepared to use violence and the threat of violence to express their hatred of the decision. There are many aspects to this issue that we must examine. The makeup of the court, the Constitution, and religion are explored. To begin this examination, however, we must first know some of the background of this case....."
