The Social Safety Net Was Constructed As A Result Of Corporate Greed: "The current attitude coming from Republicans and conservatives is, why do we even need that socialistic safety net? All it does is create lazy people and keeps them economically stagnant.
Our safety net was implemented in reaction to years and even generations of a lack of a living wage and a comfortable retirement. Back in the late 1800s, the working people of this country were in the same economic situation as many people are today, but they didn’t have the safety net to catch them if they fell onto hard times.
Here is a snip of a speech given by Jacob S. Coxey in 1944, Coxey was supposed to deliver the speech on May 1st, 1894 but was arrested by the Capitol Police for stepping on the grass..."

This country apparently doesn't like history very much. This country was founded against the tyranny of corporate greed, we started the safety net because of corporate greed which had fueled the great depression, and now we are here again.
That is so true. People have said that those who forget history are bound to repeat past mistakes and that's exactly what's happening. And there's people who don't seem to care which I don't understand at all.
I remember history, so F the leaders who didn't stay awake in class. Then there is the tea party, who just want to hold racist signs and hang tea bags from their hats. They seem mentally disturbed.
Lol, they really do. And they'd almost have to be to shoot themselves in the foot like this with everything their against.
