Perry is just crazy. They want to take over the nation, make it a theocracy, and make heaven on earth (Jesus not required).
I really don't what to live in a theocracy. Or a fascist country. Or a dictatorship. Or anything like that. I want my good old republic/democracy that we're supposed to have. I hope that next year we flip these crazies the bird and let them know we won't stand for their crazy shit.
