Michele Bachmann and Rick Perry’s Politics Betray The Teachings of Christ: "In American politics it has become normal for candidates to brand themselves in order to garner support from special interest groups, voters and campaign donors alike even though there are times when voters are pitched one brand and campaign donors hear a totally different storyline. There is not always a distinct correlation between a candidate’s advertised credentials and their experience or actions, but some politicians are so far-removed from their public expression of themselves that voters cannot help but be aware of the divergence. Two of the Republicans seeking the nomination for the presidency have branded themselves as evangelical Christians who will transform the country into a “nation under the Christian god,” and although they are true believers, their actions as politicians are far-removed from a follower of Christ...."
"If the United States is supposed to uphold "Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness" how can a sick or dying person without health care have these rights."

"Any health care funding plan that is just, equitable, civilized and humane must - must - redistribute wealth from the richer among us to the poorer and the less fortunate. Excellent healthcare is by definition re-distributional."

I have to link to this.
So funny to read this post. I just posted this on FB. "I've been thinking about Fundamentalist Christians. The name is too good for them. A true fundamentalist gets to the heart of the matter and a true Christian endeavors every day to emulate the daily life of Jesus of Nazareth. The current crop of Fundies is about as far from that as you can get. Most spend their time sowing discord and disseminating hatred. They should, more appropriately, be called "stick-in-the-ass" Christians. Jesus was not like that and he can't be pleased by these pretenders."
It is a really good article.
You make some very good points Cletis!
