Remembering the Context of War Crimes: The Crime of War Itself

Remembering the Context of War Crimes: The Crime of War Itself: "One would think that, by now, America would have made the connection between war and atrocity. Or, are we too obsessed with our consumer-driven lifestyles, or too apathetic to even pay attention? Or perhaps we believe the military is a refuge for miscreants and deviants capable of unspeakable acts of cruelty and barbarism....."

Hmmm... I hate to say it but... this article sounded vaguely familiar to me... haha.

Sorry, that as probably unfair of me, but still.

Nate, yours was better!

Thank you my friend, that's very heartening to hear.  I hate to say it but I am contacting Truthout about it, I hope it's just a coincidence but the similarities are a little too uncanny for my tastes...

It could be a coincidence with all sorts of war problems coming out, but I  can understand how you feel.  You wrote a wonderful, well researched piece, and then someone comes up with something that is way too close for comfort.

 Sorry Nate :(

I tend to post articles that pretty much say the same thing but from another point of view. I did enjoy your article a lot more though. And I'd be frustrated if I was in your shoes.

Yeah, like I said in my email to Truthout, I'm sure it's just one of the more bizarre coincidences I've ever encountered, but it really is too close for comfort for me.  Published just one day after mine making many of my same points?  I have to at least inquire about it.

It's okay, I'm really not accusing you or even the author of this article of anything.  I always enjoy watching the posts on your blog!  I just found the similarities way too bizarre between my article and this one that was published just a day after mine for comfort :-S.

It is pretty bizarre and I don't blame you for making an inquiry at Truth Out about it. I'd be doing it too if I were you.

I think that was a wise move.  At least, they will get the hint I hope.
